I think I was something like member 101 or 102 on the original AO board and I haven't posted on the current one in years. I don't want to smack talk it cause the founder is a really awesome guy and I have to say as far as information, reviews and news its top notch. I just can't hang with the cool crowd.  I like to crack jokes, I use a worn out TM AK, I have duct tape on most of my gear/guns and I have horrible grammer skills. I can hold my own on a field, but am I incapable of getting pwned by a newbie with a springer? Hell no! I like having fun, I mean its a hobby right? I hope to make it to some of the Ruins Raiders or Theta's games at some point because I've only heard good things about them, but I'm not at all upset at missing the big AO games. I just don't fit in with 98% of those players. |

no one is talking smack about the board or the mods there, the board has lots of game info and the staff is pretty solid. got several mods i PM with there & would never put them on the spot.
its not everybody there, got a LOT of good friends there and LOCUTUS(the founder) is who sent me here to find you guys as after talking to him, he said that for the "style" of play that i wanted? WVA would be a better place to find games. thought that was fair enough and honest out of him.
even though ive still found way more games consistently in ohio, they just stay "low profile" to avoid getting thrashed on by the "all powerful & controlling rulers of BB's in ohio".
im good with Jonah, Kyle, Myagi, taskforce740, Rygar and a many others there,
the entire point of this thread was that the hobby is its own worst enemy, some guys dont want anyone new in "their sandbox".... others want more players and games. its the usual old school verses new players you find in every hobby.
they were asking "why does everyone think we are elitist pricks?"
then you had about 10 people make posts like the one i quoted, which shows why people feel that way.
pretty simple formula. if you act like an elitist prick? people are going to perceive you that way.
like you said, sometimes i play with a busted AK or even a JGM4....... and im not gonna be talked down to or bossed around by some FUKTARD who thinks he's GI JOE with a headset and guard a empty barrel for 6 hours.
so, i dont play the strict milsim games...
i play for fun and to BS with people! if i wanted to be bossed around, treated like ****, or have my gear ran down? id just call my wife or go in to work that day!
enjoying this hobby (for me) is all about shooting, getting shot & interacting with other people wanting to forget the real world for a few minutes.

No Rig, its not the TM that makes you cool, its multicam and your tan affiliation. Also, tan cheats, thats why I play that side, I like to win.

Not to hype up the Raiders but when I came around,( first game at the school house) They were easy to get along with and great on the field. It also helped that a bunch of my friends were around. I also would not have been up to keep playing with most of the people that play at the events in other places. It's a great team to be a part of. If I wasn't so broke I'd playing sat with you guys. Yard sale ha you typed that...... your mosfet is ready when you sell your teddy bear let you know when I'm back in town

You're giving me flashbacks of a fat guy in russian gear with a bull horn.... At Fulda, stuff like that was yelled at the green/us team across the field all day.  Stang, the noobs, er, I mean green guys don't even notice we cheat...Unless you tell them.  As I said before though. AO has always been like that since I started using the site. It is what it is. It's a good site for knowledge. Though it is getting a little dated. Still like it for what I use it for though. And it can be quite entertaining too. Of course I also like to watch the DNA test/Lie detector shows on Maury. |

Green is the tits. why? Because green is made of of 3 kinds of people. New kids with a little bit of surplus or their dad's 20 year old BDUs that you are embarrassed to be killed by. The grizzled ancient dudes with the beastly guns that could care less about gear. And third, peopel liek me with Way too much cheap surplus. All the cheap surplus. Tan however is made up of ninja wannabe kids, COD kids, and Spec ops wannabes. So in other words a fashion show. and all that 20 pounds of gear on your weapon make it stupid cumbersome to use. yeah, I'll be a bit elitist. I just do it the nonconformist way. Stupid conformity.

actually have several different camo's including tan/desert but SO FAR, its always been more fun to run on the DARK or "untrained" side of the games & the "specialists" like that tan stuff.
got a buddy in ALbania who is supposed to send me some new stuff...... we'll see what that looks like.

The problem with the untrained side, is just that. They arent trained. I know that airsoft is about having fun, but there are games when we have just been massacred because the fellow green would do nothing. That and the tan were Dbags.
Not saying that you cant have fun and Sean, I know you guys do. I actually ran green at the last Fallen Warriors and I had an awesome day (fun and plenty of kills).
Oh and as far as my guy card, its not even my stuff. Its all her moms and her brothers. The only reason I am here is for heavy lifting.
