Apocalypse 2012

So, since this is 2012 and the apocalyptic rumors are more abundant than ever before, I say we all get together on this idea. I want this to fall in the lines of the world as we know it coming to an end (not zombies). The grid has gone down and natural disasters are at a cataclysmic high.

I would like for our community to come here with thoughts and ideas for creating an apocalyptic game. Any contribution helps and all places, dates and times will be determined as it unfolds.

I would like to have this be an open-play game with no admissions. Donations for materials are always appreciated and normally needed.

With all that being said, let the ideas flow...

I think it should be many different groups with objectives of common things like food, water, ammo, and etc with each group trying to collect all the objectives and take out the enemy groups.

Not a bad idea but the biggest problem will be where will we have it?

Could always use the boy scout camp but that's $5 a head. I like the idea a lot. Something I would like to see is a 1 mag cap per players. Then have ammo put around the field along with other stuff to collect.

The boy scout camp does seem like a good place. I never had the chance to go there so maybe it has what we are looking for. I was thinking the same thing with the mag situation. One mag and some ammo spread about with old empty food cans, gas cans and other miscellanious items for props that can be worked into the scenario.

@theskeleton - I like that idea, maybe a group of civilians (normal folk surviving), a group of cannibals and some government arms men.

I like the idea of ammo restrictions, but how would that be regulated between midcaps, highcaps, and support guns?

And what about Gear restrictions?? Cause itd be strict at some areas and there would need to be an easy way to communicated between players in the groups.

well if this is the end of the world and the grid is down the only communication would be vocal. radio communications would be down in an event such as this. but there is always a way to reboot a communications tower and maintain control of it..... this could turn into a pretty sweet game

The climbing tower would be a good com tower to have to take and hold

that was my problem, we would have to have a variety of different mags and stuff unless we all use a good survival weapon...the AK-47

Also, this seems interesting....base objectives and such. I would pay 5 dollars to play a game! sounds like a good idea!

No everyone just needs 1 mid cap for there gun and there are so many or us with tons of mags to loan out. And if your running a high cap the the organize pits the ammo in it for you.

Well you could do another faction war....2 militaries are trying to help out local survivors find food, water, and gear. First to bring back 20 items wins? kinda like capture the flag but with a twist. Open to changes, but its not a bad idea.

Use gas cans full of water and water jugs. Bags of 50 or so bbs some little debbie boxes ( full boxes so I can eat them after) for food and cans. Batteries could be put out to and radios with some battery power. Could also us camping gear as items to gather.

Something else I thought about. What about using a secondary until you found your rifle on a certain place on the field? Have them placed where you would know and make it so only you could pick up your own rifle. But make it so you have to use a pistol or shotgun till your team gets to an old "Ammo Depot" and you pick up your weapon

That would be interesting if no one is reluctant to give up their primary for a while.
