Society has collapsed. You have reached your BOL (Bug Out Location,,,or are at your BIL...Bug In Location). You have a team of 6 families and 3 single parents with 14 kids2 single females, and 1 single male. Each adult and kid 10, 13, 15 and two 17 year olds are survival trained and are prepared (not a novice group). You have 4 dogs (1 yorkie, 1 German shepherd, 1 golden retriever, and 1 yappy mutt) and 3 cats that various people brought with them. You have 8 vehicles, (2 SUV's..non 4WD, 1 crossover SUV, 1 small truck, 2 full size trucks 1 sedan, and 1 minivan). Each adult has an primary rifle and secondary pistol with less than 600 rounds for the rifle and 150 rounds for the pistol and there is one long range rifle (.308). The kids are weapons trained, but do not have a weapon to call their own. There is enough food at your location to feed everyone for 6 months. No one in your group can speak a foreign language and half of the group has a HAM radio license and mobile radio with one base radio (full set up). You have two combat veterans among your group. No one else is military trained or has LEO experience. You have no electric or running water but have 1 goat, 4 chickens, 1 rooster, 1 pig, and a garden.
Use your BOL or BIL as you think about this...don't comment that you're going it alone...because that will bring instant death.
How would you handle the first 24 hours?
1.) We eat a big meal as a group.
2.) Put together a 4 hour rotating watch with myself or one former military trained person on each shift, plus one other adult and the 15, or a 17 year old. Also, keep the .308 with the watch at all times.
3.) Reinventory and establish our communication gears.
4.) Setup minivan as an emergency Bug Out Vehicle for young children.
5.) Prepare a six man patrol for the next morning.
