Ok ladies, as you know Norris and his 29th MEU attend this Chicago area event every year as documented in a couple of photo threads that are posted on here. This year, several of you have expressed interest in attending and if that is the case then lets start organizing this now.
Here is the facts-
* It's a long trip, gas and toll booths will make it expensive.
* Look to being gone for 4-5 days.
* You will be representing WV Airsoft at an event in the rather large and influential Midwest community. This includes on field play, off field socializing and online if you engage in their online community. Be on your best behavior.
*Norris has enough ties up their to ensure that you stay in the same squad on either 1st or 2nd platoon of the U.S. side. Sorry folks, you will not be running with the 29th as we are considered an SF unit of 3rd platoon.
* We can look into getting you a campsite near us, but you will have to fend for yourselves. Tents, sleeping bags, food, water, etc. etc.
*They usually have vendors where you can buy bb's, gas etc and food vendors set up between certain hours. You also have the option of leaving site and shopping locally at the stores. I would not rely on these things alone, take what you can just in case.
* Even though we will be in another platoon, Norris and I will be calling the shots on most things involving this trip. Reputations are on the line, not just personal but our entire community, so we want to be professional above everything else.
* The U.S. side is green uniform based. That being said I'm stating now that USGI Woodland should be the uniform for this event. It's easy to find, comes in all sizes and inexpensive. Try to keep your gear green based, wearing Coyote brown vest and gear is frowned upon because it causes confusion on the field. You will see people break this rule, but it's not going to be one of us. There is no rules of what type of weapon you can use. Why did I jump the gun and say woodland? Because ladies,I have been around long enough to see things degenerate into chaos when multiple people try to decide on a common uniform.
* If enough people show interest and this looks like a go, then we can start organizing the fine details of the operation. If this still sounds interesting, chime in below and welcome to the West Virginia Expeditionary Force!
