Not trying to diss sniping in airsoft, or offending you at all, but most AEG's outrange bolt sniper rifles. Your accuracy and range comes straight from your hop-up, and it takes alot of money and precision to make a bolt action rifle anywhere near consistant. I've owned the M99 and saw it to be inconsistent, and have a max range of 150 feet. They may have updated them, the only way to find out is to field it ;D

Yeah what archer said. Ive got two guns. well One after this game that can reach out to about 250 feet accurately and with barely any work in them. Just a hopup and tbb (But the other one is a stock ak). But with the right work you can get alot more out of an aeg than any springer. I mean unless its got upgraded sear set, tbb, laylax hopup, and shooting like .38's they really are not going to be all that effective. I would know I used to run around with a bolt action and just about quit airsoft until I decided to try an aeg.

If you have $600-$800 to toss around your sniper rifle isn't going to really be effective as a range gun.

Mother of God it can't get worse then OP: Artemis.. 24 hours of straight milsim, 18 degrees outside, and a foot of snow on the ground, in the mountains. After that game I invested in hundreds of dollars worth of Cold weather gear. It's all trial and error, you'll be fine wolf.

I'm going to be at the field pretty early. My dad has to go out and plow snow tomorrow morning so I'll be rolling up with 3 others around like 9:00. I was wondering if anybody had some free space in their vehicles. Sorry to be a pain in the ass, this came out of no where.

So, here's what I found out after playing today with a bunch of great people. Lots of new faces, I was very excited to see come to airsoft and enjoy a good friendly outing. I could tell many were not very experienced playing in the snow/only played backyard games. So many people were going round and about about calling your hits. Even I was yelled at and told to "call my hit!" even though, I wasn't ;D The snow really throws you off people Not only is everything white, so it masks your BB trail, but the snow will touch the bb and make it go somewhere way away from where you were aiming. Another thing, people, when you come onto this forum, and say you're attending a game, and it is posted "All WVairsoft rules apply", please, please please please, look at the rules! There was quite a bit of blindfiring, MED's not being used in a few occasions, and radio scanning. My team had to switch radio channels 4 times due to scanning, someone was! ;D Now then, I understand. I've never seen quite a few of you guy's faces before. And that is all well and good, it's trial and error, I get it! I am in no way trying to insult someone, or make someone angry. I am simply saying that the rules we have here, and the rules you have at your local games, are different To wrap this all up, I had fun. Good, simple fun. It was cold, but we stuck it out and atleast got 2 games out of it! I plan on hosting an actual OP with Ryan in March or April. Be on the lookout!

And again, I missed a game I said I would attend. Mom took one look at the weather report and was like, "Nope!"

That's why you use motorola radios programed on Dot Frequencies. So the people on the frs/gmrs frequencies can't listen in on your channel. Having an airsoft game with less experienced players they're more than likely to have the cheap family radios. Lol

I used to use UHF radios, but they are uncommon in players and can be expensive if you want good ones. I run regular VHF now just because of everyone else being adaptable.

I'm glad that you guys had fun, I was a victim of the weather. I missed a couple days of work due to being stuck on my hill. As for the rules, we didn't just make these up out of thin air. They are very close if not exact to the rules national airsoft organizations and event organizers use for safety. You may think blind fire and MEDs are "uncool" or you may feel the need to harness your inner deva and whip out a "Ain't nobody got time for that", but wait till your moving along a wall and someone blind fires full auto into your face. You won't find it funny then, trust me I've had it happen. As for the radios, it's basic sportsmanship. At large events outside of this state it's usually considered cheating and could result in you being asked to leave.
