In airsoft you will find basically two types of games-
1. The classic shoot'em up, force on force, capture the flag, speedball type event where the goal is only the elimination of the other side. These are fast, fun and something you might do at a throw together game just to pass the time.
2. Milsim- these games are set up to recreate real world environments and missions as best as possible. You will find various missions that need completed that may not even require the firing of a single bb. There are often props, roleplayers and uniform requirements that help with the "immersion" of it all. these are structured events and usually require an event staff and planner(s) of some kind.

I've been on here a while and there was another JTF thread, but it was rather old, so I made a new one.
There is also new info on the group. It use to be that multicam and the patches were the official uniform, now other uniforms with JTF patches are authorized. The idea is that if you wear MC, you are "active" if you are in another uniform you are "reserve". Finally, you can change your status event to event and maintain your position in the group. There is no difference between the two, just what camo you are wearing.
