Actually, I have the best gun. But, It's not for sale. If you want to start out. Look at the echo1 and G&G line of guns. Make sure you read and think about the link STANG gave you. It really is an accurate answer too your question.

Actually, I have the best gun. But, It's not for sale. Na Ah! I have the best airsoft gun. You saw my DMR and it too is not for sale. Oh and I picked up that paint, it is a little shiny, but not too bad. Good color though.

And that, codranger is why your question can't be answered. We all build our guns to suit our own needs and tastes. Start out with the one you like the best. If it's junk or doesn't suit your needs. Get another one. That is the only way you will truely find the gun for you.
@stang I didn't think the sheen was too bad. Have you tried to mix it with some camo tan? Might take some shine off. I wish they made that color in a flat though. It is just about perfect.

Good to hear. That is the closest FDE I could find with out buying the pricey stuff.

was gonna say that on the "real" steel we just take some 0000 steel wool to them to knock the sheen down.
if he used duracoat or aluma hyde II it will work perfect.

Green kitchen scrubby for scuffing... gentler than steel wool..
