What are the rules on cold smoke or any non-pyro device ? Just curious. I have an itch to purchase some cold smoke at some point (not soon) because smoke nades are fun as all get out and denying it is blasphamy. Right now the only cold smoke grenades I can find are the ones available for purchase from sportsmoke.com

They are allowed, but it depends on the field location, time of year and weather conditions. For instance, at MAM we allow them in the spring because it it usually wet. In the summer and fall, it is usually too dry. Eventhough they do not require a fire to set them off, the chemical reaction is exothermic and creates a lot of heat; enough to light the under brush on fire.
