Not to open a can of worms.. but I must admit.. I hate them..
Been considering painting over the one on my pistol with a base of black and a drybrush of gunmetal.

yeah lots of crazy opinions on this out there....
lots of crazy "takes" on the law as well.
i keep the removable orange tip and when we go somewhere put it on my gun which is usually in a case anyway.
but the perm version is always removed from mine or its a dead give away in the field that says AIM HERE....
lots of my L E O friends all tell me the same thing: if they see a gun they dont pay attention to the "tip" of it, they are usually making a judgement call on the "shooters" aggression or carry method.
many of your gang bangers now paint the end of their guns ORANGE.... cant win for losing.

Legally, they are only required to ship them. Once they are sold you can paint over them. However, a BIG word of caution, with or without the tip treat them like a real firearm. It seems like every year or so there is a story of someone being killed because LE thought the airsoft gun was a real steel. Treat them with respect and you will be fine.

I was told one but a couple people that with gun like that I'm going to get in trouble with the cops. and I was like "What am I doing with them that would be illegal with a real gun?" Like stang said, I really don't see how anyone could have a problem if you use the same safety measures.
