Hey guys... just talked to Dan about an airsoft field in shady spring. We have plenty of room and may even have more than one field eventually. All the input that you can put in will help us with this project. We should be up and operational soon as we are just waiting on a quote on our insurance before we get too far ahead of our selves.Looking forward to working with you folks on this venture Farmer Joe

I Our address is 323 Rakes Road in Shady Spring. Dont use a GPS or Mapquest to try and find us, most times they wont bring you here. Use the directions on my website and you will be fine. www.someplacespecialgemmine.comI live on this old farm and can be there to show what we have to work with , most any time. Right now,i am in the early stages of putting this in action. We have a public gem mine on the property and we will be opening up for the season on Friday, but wont have the airsoft part open till later. I have a page on our website dedicated to airsoft, so that i can get a feel as to how many folks are actually interested in this. So far its been pretty popular, but i have to be able to at least break even to afford to be able to make this work. I need ideas for what you guys want in a field and i will try and make it as close as possible for you. As time passes and we get a better grasp on whats needed ,we will be able to evolve to best suit the needs of everyone.

Couple of questions; Are you dead set on the orange tip thing? I haven't had an orange tip on a gun in 5 years.
Fps and BB weight. The norm is .2 and above. Which would put fps at about 350-360. Which is acceptable for cqb. I can set my guns to that. But, most decent quality guns won't be that low stock.
If I have to buy bbs from you. Will they be good quality and not cost an arm and a leg like paintballs do?

I have not heard back from the insurance company yet,so im not sure what fps and pellet weight we will be able to work with. Its not really up to me to what we can and cant do.....i will know more soon. I have to be able to at least break even on this venture so i need to make a small amount off of the pellets as a way to make this work. I cant afford several thousands of dollrs in costs per year and not recoup that cost. After i see that i can count on paying the bills here consistant,we will allow you to use your pellets. Even then they will need to be.biodegradeable. As for the orange tip....not everyone coming to this facility will be here for airsoft....we have to considr that someone may mistake your weapon for a real one and do something dumb. If you dont have a tip, orange tape will work. Once we get the second field open ,it will be away from the parking area and we may be able to relax that rule. I really want this to work out and im still working out the bugs to make sure its the best ,but i need input and ideas. Soon as i am sure i can make this happen,we may have a meeting one evening so that everyone can help decide whats best. I think we can make this one of the best...if not the best field..period. Be thinking whats made each field great and not so great, that you have visited. We can use that to our advantage as we build

I have to ask, by saying that there are other people using this site and they may do something stupid if they see guns with non orange tips, who are these people and why are they armed? Hunters?

The sad part is when I read your post a theme for an event popped in my head! My concern is that if someone is this trigger happy then a piece of orange tape isn't going to help much. Being a gem mine I would assume armed security?

Regardless, I don't think someone carying a handgun is going to open fire on anyone that he really thinks is carying an AK or a M4, etc.
