I just got got my G&G M4/16 Raider-RIS (non-blowback) roughly a day or two ago. I want to put a madbull 6.01 tightbore in it and a new bucking.
I love the Madbull 'Red' bucking on my AK but I am unsure what the differences between their 'Blue' one and 'Red' one are or if those buckings are even appropriate for my AEG.
FPS for the gun is 350-380. The hop-up unit is plastic (ABS body shell) and I am unsure if that effects selecting a bucking. Any tips for small modding an M4/V2 Gearbox is always appreciated as well.

The problem you are going to have with the Madbull buckings is that they are a hard rubber bucking meaning they are built for 450 FPS and over for optimal results. I use systema buckings (12 bucks) in my guns and have had fantastic results out of it. I have also used both the red and blue buckings and while they work well I prefer the softer systema bucking personally.

I'm doing a complete rebuild on one of mine very soon. The M120, (Madbull), stripped the piston teeth and then broke into several pieces. This particular gearbox is also suffering from a profound loss of power, I presume, due to the massive cylinder leaks. ANY ADVICE IS WELCOMED.

That is correct. Hard rubber buckings are optimized for higher FPS. Promethius and Systema both make great soft buckings. As for the rest of your issues EDGE, what are you looking to get out of it?

In one AEG I'd like to achieve FPS just below the average indoor standard. With the other I'd like to max out the outdoor standard FPS. I may invest in a "boneyard" model strictly for the internals. I'd REALLY like Systema convenience with a Dboy budget. Lolol! I'm getting ready to order from evike soon, and I'm just trying to get straight what I really want. My cart already has $337 worth in it.

Well if you are talking about an M4 platform I would go with a new piston with the metal teeth strips, a high end spring, maybe 140 or 150, high torque motor and reinforced gear set. You may want to consider a mosfet for your DMR as well as it makes the trigger response nice and crisp. For the second if you are talking just sub 400, I would go with a modify M110 spring as well as a tightbore barrel. If your gun has a 1 piece hop up and is an M4 I HIGHLY recomend the Modify Ultimate hop up and systema bucking as well. If you have the spare funds, drop a mosfet in it and she is a lipo ready machine. If you want to let me know what you are getting I can see if I can get it in. I am not guaranteeing that I can beat Evike's price but we can do the whole build at a discount as well as custom building what you want. Let me know via PM if you are interested, if not no biggie .

Thanks, jonahm, but I kinda' enjoy tinkering with them myself right now. Although I am beginning to tire of it just a little as I get older. I may call on you sometime in the future, though.
First, I'm going to order a chrono, test the AEG, seal the leaks in the cylinder, rework the hop-up and then test it again. I already have a Madbull 6.03 TBB, (may go 6.01). Thought of getting another M120, bearing spring guide, upgrading to the composite piston, new heads and nozzle. Throw in a good bucking and nub and I'll be back in business. I'd like to hear everyone's opinion on the correct parts and my approach. Don't just tell me what you like, but tell me WHY you prefer it.
