jsut a conversation and questions..
seems that there is always one person in every crowd who wont call a "HIT".....
this is the single biggest detractor to people ive tried to drag over from paintball...
"you cant tell when they are hit and they wont call it"....
true we have had some people who wouldnt call in some games we went to..
so that brings us to these new (to me) marking bb's.
have seen them in orange and yellow.
tell me about them.
are they chalk?
mini paints?
if they are chalk what keeps them from clogging up a barrel when we use oil?
or even better what keeps them from breaking in the air/barrel?
then:
how do they fly?
any of you got the answers?

I hear that the paint-ball bb's are not the best to use in a airsoft gun because they can leave paint and what other crap they are made of inside of the gun if they do bust. And also thats why some games or sites have game wardens.

I actually believe they have both. Some are paintballs and some are marking bbs. I have not seen anybody have success with them. I'm not brave enough to try them. I really can't believe there isn't cheating in paintball. In an all day paintball event I'm sure people have paint all over them. How do you say which paintball hit just happened? I've watched paintball on tv and have seen refs have to call out a guy who just got shot in the mask. He didn't call himself out, the ref had to. So for some one to say that's what keeps them out of airsoft, I think they're lying. They just like paintball. Which is okay really. There is nothing wrong with paintball. There are times where I've seen blatant cheating and other times people are hit and don't know it. It bugs me sometimes. But, taking people out is a small portion of why I play. Meeting new friends, spending time with my son and running around like a kid(though I pay for it later) are the reasons I play. So, paintball can keep their paintballs. I don't really want them in airsoft.

I would not do anything to the bb's if they don't call out light them up until they get tired of being peppered by bb's.

I would have to agree with Rig and Specs on this one. I do believe thou, that sometimes when the person is on the move and is cold out and may have a little bit more clothing on he may not feel the bb hit him especially if it's around 120 ft or so. So therefore like specs mentioned keep lighting him up till he does call out.

On a slight Tangent, I've been in the Soc. for Creative Anachronisim since '84. I started as a 'heavy fighter' and then about eighteen years ago switched my focus to rapier fighting. (We get to use real steel.) Accepting shots in that organization is framed as 'On your Honor' to accept a good shot that fullfilled the rules requirement for a valid hit. The responsibility to play fair is on you. Yes there are 'refs' called Marshals and they can pull anyone being a jerk. (Which usally means they lose their Authorization card as well and have to requalify to participate in the future, no matter how spiffy their equipment is or what rank they have.) The reality is however.. there will always be shots that are not called.. Sometimes a person isnt doing so intentionally.. they may have been hit in a way that they honestly didn't realize. However sometimes its obvious that they just think they're 'better than that' or something and are not calling shots for some personal internal reason. (Folks who really wanna WIN for example.) Outside of 'refs' or the like.. there is little one can do about what others do. What one can do is to always try and hold yourself to the highest standard of play you can, to be courteous to yur fellow players and considerate when interpreting events or rules. One motto I have is: Be Critical of oneself, but Courteous to one's Neighbor..

I saw airsoft BBs in a demo video that sparked when they hit (think poppers at the 4th of July). I thought that was really cool, although face shots would hurt and burn.
The Paint ones are crap, if they can break when they hit someone, they will break when your air nozzle hits them. Then you just gummed up your gun.

Anywhere I've ever played, if all you show is your head, it's gonna get shot. Most places have rules against intentional head shots. That only really applies if you have something else you can shoot(like the body).

Yeah, thats what we have. You arent suppose to intentionally aim for the head, but if that is all they are giving you, then its a fair shot.

Yep, I was playing one time and one of the guys was in the center fort. He was sitting down, but there was a .25 inch gap right were he was sitting. I probably spent a mag trying to get a BB in there just right, then BAMB! Right in the temple. Left a real nice welt on him too. But it was his fault, after the first couple of shots you would think he would have moved.
