It would be ridiculously hard and even more expensive. The amount of machining and other work would kill the project. Look up Killbucket on Airsoft Ohio or google. He makes miniguns, M2s, all kinds of things. The best part is they use M14 parts and a lot of it is plastic. He also has stencils that you can use to make the stuff yourself.

No idea how good this is. It will probably be 100 bucks to ship it, but you are still looking at 500 bucks for an M82. I know you want to build one, but this would be your best bet to actually use one.
