I would like to petition the admin group to consider ammending the club rules to allow players under the age of 18 to use the new style full-face mesh masks along with goggles as depicted below. This formation affords full face/side/rear protection in addition to the required ANSI 87.1Z eye protection. It will also allow for increased air flow between the face and goggle reducing fogging. I intend to get one for my young son, who will begin playing very soon, as well as for myself. I would like to order soon, so let me know ASAP. Thank you.

So the original wording of the official game rules concerning eye protection now reads: "Eye Pro ANSI z87.1 rated eye pro. Full seal if under 18". Read more: www.wvairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rules&action=display&thread=2#ixzz23fjQ964pI have moved that we amend the former to read: "Eye pro ANSI Z 87.1 rated eye protection required. Full seal required for participants under 18 years of age. Full face steel mesh mask worn under ANSI Z 87.1 eye protection may be substituted for the full-seal requirement above". Both Alex Young and Nick Young have seconded the motion. Can we now open this topic for debate? What are your opinions? Concerns?

So your wanting to wear the full face mesh that's full seal along with ballistic glasses or goggles underneath?

No, ballistic glasses over the mesh just as it is depicted in the photo. Increases air flow and affords the necessary protection. The protection would still be there if the lenses were worn underneath, but the air flow would be nill.

Sounds good to me. The goggles over or under will keep your eyes safe and the mesh is full face

Before you order it. Look into fencing masks. About the same thing

Thanks, Dan. I did exactly that as soon as I saw your message last night. I checked five distributors of fencing equipment and found that their cheapest models were still twice the price as the matrix model. I also noted that they are not as form fitting. They stick out a bit along the sides and top to the rear of the head just enough to limit wearing any other type of headgear like hats or comms gear. But good idea, though.

So what's the next step? Do Tiernan and Ultra have to approve this too?

Seems okay to me. As long as they still have some eye pro. I'm the biggest whiny booty on here when it comes to me having to wear full seal. If it gives a good seal equivalent to the full seal let's do it.
