That sounds great norris, u can count me in. I love Milsim as long as its more on the modern side.. looking forward to playing at Sandyville. Im with ya on the "modern" stuff! That is what I forged my milsim element on is the modern look. It evolved into multiple uniforms and loadouts but the one we all liked was the modern with plate carrier, mainly being the CIRAS. Playing with a CIRAS in the heat of summer SUCKS though. Body cant breath or cool down. I know events tend draw more people if the requirements are looser, in terms of weapon configurations and loadouts. So, Im helping cody with the field on props and overall event structure in hopes of gaining a foothold for the hobby in the area. I came from an area that ALWAYS produced stellar results in attendance, therefore making for a really good experience for the player. Im hoping my experience can help. I love the hobby and am addicted to it and military surplus.

Some of us need to set up a date sometime soon (Probably after next week, I have a 6 day week) and talk about some of this. Whether it be trying to get Cody to host more games, or someone else with land allowing us to use it. Hell, it could even be simply hosting more games - The more we have, the more consistent we'll be with getting to them.
So, anyone up for it?

Is there a location to meet up?

I probally won't get to attend any get togethers for these discussions, but hopefully Tiernan won't have to rush back to work after the LHC game and we can go out to eat with everyone.

I work every day this coming week but Wednesday. So it'll probably have to wait until week after this (Week starting on Sunday the 6th) before I can meet anyone.
Barista work is demanding.

Well Cows, I really don't have any big bombs of wisdom to drop here. This state and our surrounding areas have had these problems for as long as I remember. I guess maybe you can chalk it up to the demographics of the area compared to upper regions of Ohio as to why airsoft thrived there and not here. In our region, most of us work craptastic service or retail jobs which make us jump through hoops for weekends off and alot of us end up unemployed and can't afford to play. I read the other day that this state in a national survey ranks near the top of the list for homes without internet connections and as we all know airsoft has always been a web driven hobby. This severely hurts us, but there is no way for us to fix any of these large scale problems. All that we can do is press on and hope that the game takes root with more people. The site is stable now and seems to be doing good, we keep up efforts to find/fix up playing sites and do our best to hold on to the small roster of players and keep them interested. One thing I tip my hat to Cows and Saac (if I left out anyone sorry) is how they always try to round up people for after game food. I know alot of times players have to roll out due to other commitments, but its cool just hanging out with other players and b.s.ing about stuff. It's sometimes hard to forge friendships on the field or over these forums. I do think our presence on Facebook and other social networking sites needs to expand, not so much as an organization but maybe from individual efforts. The kids are using these sites more then forums these days. I was shocked at how many people Kool Aid gets at his games from FB. ( In fact- Kool Aid...where are you?) Like I said, no real fixes here. We just gotta keep rolling on. I am still here. It has just been a while with college, work situations and getting married. I should be back in business soon...I hope. I do agree that the social networking sites are a big factor in pulling people in. This last summer was my first time ever getting into the sport and it was a bit rocky and confusing but I am hoping to come in to it this year with a new out-look in mind. As for Spectre, I have saw small clips of your field on youtube and heard great things. I have to sway with the majority on this one. Making a few open-play games with less restrictions on attire might do some good before planning "tight" games. I know the small amount of people I was getting in contact with via Facebook has been sitting low lately as well and I hope to round them back into action. However I do believe that I should be getting everyone back in to play this spring because I have already dedicated finacial planning for a new improved loadout in hopes to hit OP-Irene this year.

Kool-aid, you know they just had Op Irene right? So you are going to need to wait for next year. Not worth it IMO. Back on topic.

PM your thoughts about it if you don't mind. It is a good chunk of change including bedding, food, gas ...ect. So I will see how it ways out as it gets closer to registration.

In regards to "getting together" and discussing the local airsoft scene/venues and possibilities, I am still up for it. I start my vacation this saturday the 3rd of December for a week. I live in Culloden (REALLY close to Kenny's Military) and have plenty of room for multiple cars to be parked at the house and have a little show and tell on the ideas I have already penned out on paper. I am also working on finding locations to actually play or host a solid event in this neck of the state. I believe persistance is gonna pay off, sooner or later.
Anyone interested?

Norris have you looked at mill creek hunting preserve? It's out behind Milton like its state owned. There's also the boy scout camp that we used for op bel. You have to rent it but they only charged us $5 a person to rent it all day. Just some ideas I know that area pretty well.

I've been incredibly busy at work (Who knew coffee would be so demanding?), and haven't been terribly able to check in a lot the past few weeks. I want to get a good foundation set up for this next year - So, I'm up for meeting of some sort. If people have ideas for where to host games, that's fantastic, as more places = More games and more people. We need the location boundary crossed well, as LHC is an unusual place for us to set things up. Never know week to week what's gonna be going on.

I know of a 400 acre place to play if we can get spectre to set something definate up. I think that is our best bet, don't have to deal with people on 4 wheelers, walking pets, etc. And it's insured.
