Anyone want to have a game at Ridenour lake in Nitro? I will ask my cops friends that work in Nitro if it would be alright. I highly doubt they would mind a lot and would let us. We would just have to be kinda farther back from the trail.

I don't know if this is a good idea. It's a public park. Not a good place for folks like us. If we can get scary creek and a good local group going. You'll have a place to play.

Only the front of it. There is a lot of land no body goes on.

It could still be asking for trouble. Our hobby will always have a high risk of bad press and trouble. Taking it into public areas increases that risk. It just takes one person on a nature walk in the middle of a game to stir up problems. With that said. Airsoft on a safe and sanctioned field can bring it into a good light.

See, it's starting already. Pay 2 play verses the "evils of unsafe outlaw events". He's just trying to come up with a place to get it on. That's what EVERYBODY in this group has done since I started loggin in 4 years ago. If you organize it, buddy, I'll be there. No offense, Rig, but you guys are nipping something in the bud and it's probably a safe bet that you've never even been there to know what he's talking about. There are hundreds of acres between the dam and Nitro Marketplace, (Hobbytown), where a game could take place and we'd NEVER see a living sole. I know. I grew up running those hills.

i have ridden 4 wheelers on the back side of the lake and out behind crosslanes where hobbytown store is located. so there is a chance of seeing people put there. now if they see you and you dont talk to them then theres a huge chance that they go and call 911 and the law comes out to see whos running around the woods pointing guns at each other.

I've been around a lot longer than you or spectre and have a real good understanding of how it is here and in other states aound us.Every time I turn around I get is sniped for trying to help this community out. "All our eggs are in one basket", "(insert someone bitching about who has the power)", "No one will see us on this public land", "I don't want to wear goggles", "I don't want to wear a face mask", "they changed the rules on us", "the fps is too high", "the fps is too low", "the ohio guys are trying to take over(which they aren't. If anyone is still wondering", "there aren't enough features on this website(cause they cost money)", "there aren't enough games or places" BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. I'm going on vacation. If you need me. I'll be checking in on the Theta site. Other than that you'll find me on the river or the bike trails of southern WV. Later.

Just a thought for airsoft in general guys. No matter how remote or how much the play area is lightly traveled playing on public land is a bad idea and is asking for trouble. When you are talking about planning a game/event you can't bank on people "usually" not using that land and hope for the best. All it takes is 1 person, 1 hiker, ATV rider etc. to complain, get scared or call law enforcement and you are done nevermind if they get hit by a stray shot.
This isn't a pay v. free argument as private land is fine provided you have the permission of the owner. If you want to play in backyards/fields etc. great as long as you have the necessary permission to do so. Airsoft on public land is a terrible idea and by endorsing it all you are doing is putting yourselves, others and the sport as a whole at risk. 1 moron with a bb gun in California is currently threatening airsoft as we know it, why open the game to more unnecessary shots.
Rig is right, an organized insured field is going to be the best option for safe and public play. If you don't want to use scary creek, try securing a landowner who is willing to let you use their property and as a community build it up. Just a thought guys.
