When we set up at MAM Mike had several of his paintball players come out and see what we were about. Two of them promptly sold their paintball gear and jumped over to airsoft once they realized it isn't clear plastic wal mart crap and that you could get a tactical experience, look and feel out of the sport more so than paintball could ever promise. I think that if you organize well, get things squared away and present a welcome, open front to the paintballers there it de-mystifies the entire experience. If (and that is a big if) I can get coverage for the kids that day I would love to come down and play. I can bring Athens Airsoft's rental guns as well so interested parties can check it out like you said, for a game or two.

As far as paintball players playing against us. I don't think that would happen. I believe the last time everbody went. Field time was switched between airsoft and paintball. The only time everbody was on the play area together. Paintballers were on seperate fields from the airsofters and there was no problem with players crossing each other. Are the fps limits going to be north or south? Er, I mean .2 or .25?

What did we decide our norms are? We didn't post it in the rules.

the fps for cqb is low but we will most likely be playing cqb for the first few hours. and walmart shotguns and black spray paint is any easy fix to a cqb gun for a day

none of my pistols can get under the 300 fps mark (even w/25's) .... thats a pretty low fps.
ya may wanna do 325-350 with engagement distance? its really gonna limit who can play at 300.
for sure you'll be knockin me, DemonDave & Snakey out of playin the CQB field.
do any of you guys have guns or pistols that shoot that light?

hey Dan, got an idea for you on that....
while on Green Gas or Propane most of the pistols ive played with are around 320 or so...
BUT how about if you run them on "duster gas" instead?
that may get them down far enough.
at least its an idea for anyone who has a pistol thats too hot.

Yeah I agree, 300 fps is mighty low. I'd say that will cut attendance at least in half maybe more. I think that 350 is much more doable for the majority. Put in the engagement distances to adjustfor slight more fps. Well any just saying.. LOL I have a electric pistol that may be under 300. If not guess i'll hang out till cqb is over.

I don't know of many pistols that don't run about 300 with .25s. My WE runs 300-330 with .2. That's about 290ish with .25. CO2 pistols are the only ones that run in the high 300s and up.
SDK I can't see that TM running over the limits. TM doesn't make a hard shooting gun. Unless you've done something to it.....

Rig, yeah the TM on duster gas is about 270 w/20's... you know the drawback on that..... 3 shots= refill gas... LOL my Glocks(KSC) & 1911(KJW) are just like yours, about 330 on 20's and 308-310 on 25's. thts still WAY over what your asking for. (thats if we stay on GG or propane, Co2 is what many of us use in our pistols.... usually around 345 or so. (most places use 350 w/20's as the CQB limit) my little cheap chrono has been within a 2-3 fps of the raiders fancy chrono on the guns so far, but maybe its "generous" in its ratings ;D not a big deal for me, will just skip the CQB. afraid your gonna have about 4 people who wind up playing your CQB game and thats not gonna impress him at all. you need BODIES to play & put on a show in this first outing. to convince him its worth having you there.the main reason i brought Scary Creek up to you guys was that the guys from Hobbytown had played up there in the past and they just didnt bring enough people, often enough to keep his attention & be taken seriously... thats why they asked me to get more people interested in trying to play there. it had NOTHING to do with safety, it was all about money. safety was just an excuse.

Just out of curiosity who set the 300 fps limit? Most CQB fields in Ohio and nationally set the CQB FPS limit at 350 as far as I know so you won't be bucking anything there. I will be fine either way as I run TM's but one guy with an AEG does not an impression make. If you want to show this guy that airsoft is a for real and not in the backyard affair that is worth his time and field to let us on you need to do it right. No offense Dan but spray painted walmart shotguns aren't really gonna get the point across . If he set the FPS limit at 300 because he is a paintball guy and won't flex (show him major national fields with an FPS of 350) then there is nothing you can do. To me one of the things that makes airsoft WAY better than paintball is the realism and performance of the weapons and gear used. If his first impression of West Virginia Airsoft is a bunch of guys in jeans and T-Shirts with walmart and crossman guns, sorry but I have a hard time seeing that impress him much. Assuming that the 15 - 20 minute rule is in effect, write up say 8 scenarios that focus on objectives to be completed in that time. Write say a 60 minute game as well so that you can showcase objectives, communications and teamwork rather than just sprint to the air bunker in our tacticool shirts . Just my .02
