Scary creek paintball

OK heres the deal. Snakey, Ultra, Tiernan, and myself went to scary creek today to talk to the owner after his lack of interest in having airsofters back. on the phone he had said 10-15 players on Sundays. after talking to him in person he changed his mind quickly. they have decided if we want to play on a Sunday that they would come in at 10am and let us start and have full rain on the whole 35 acres until 1pm when there normal hours start and the paintballers show up. after that we would be able to move to the back side of the field where the woods and speedball field are and play all we want. he also added that if we wanted to move some of his stuff around on the back field or if we wanted to add on or build stuff to have at it. they have there rules which are required by there insurance which is understandable that must be followed.

WE ARE A FAMILY ORIENTED PAINTBALL FIELD
We DO NOT allow:
A. Alcoholic Drinks
B. Illegal drugs
C. Real guns or knifes
D. Anything dangerous
E. Arguing with other players or referees
F. No physical contact
G. Clothing or equipment with vulgar pictures or words
H. Cursing or other socially unacceptable behavior for a family activity

1. There will be a referee with your group during your stay here. He will start and stop the games. Our games are from 10 to 15 minutes long. Between games everyone will go back to the safety zone for a 5 minute break.
2. Each field has specific boundaries which the referee will explain. Do not go past them.
3. We have safety zones, an area with special netting which paintballs cannot penetrate. This is where you may remove your face mask. keep your mask on at all times that you are outside the safety zone.
4. All paintball guns must have a barrel bag over the end of the barrel. keep this bag on at all times except when your on the playing field.
5. All paintball guns are set at 250-260 fps.
6. You may use your own equipment providing masks are designed and manufactured for paintball. All guns are set to semi-auto.
7. Do not hit anyone closer than 20 feet. Call out surrender. The person does not have to surrender but give him the chance to.
8. When you are hit, call out "hit", and raise your hands, walk to the safe zone, cover your barrel with the barrel bag, enter the safety zone and remove your mask.
9. You are out when a ball hits you anywhere on the body, it counts whether it breaks or bounces off of you.
10. If you rent one of our masks and are hit in the lens, do not wipe on it to try to clean it in any manner. take it to the main counter and they will clean it for you.
11. Do not pick up paintballs off the ground because they will jam your gun. Dirt will cling to them and they will absorb moisture and swell up thereby clogging the gun.
12. Keep your feet on the ground. Do not climb on anything such as roofs, trees, etc.
13. We have lights on the field. DO NOT SHOOT THEM! Do not break the glass in the busses.
14. Minimum age is a rough tough 10 years old and above.
15. You must buy your paintballs here.

Right now it looks like $12.oo + tax per person and if you need a barrel bag its $3 rental for the day and you get that back when they get there bag back.

I personaly really like this place for a couple reasons. insurance is one of the main ones. bath rooms and food is another.

Sounds like a good start. Any ideas for the first game? It's has to have good turn out. You know gotta impress them. What kind of structures are in the back field?

this actually looks to be a very promising place to have games.. the back area that dan is talking about has a bunch of stuff already in place along with a lot more wood and blue drums that we can place however we want them.. and it is a pretty large area too. we will have to be really safety minded while playing there. i took it that that was a point of trouble for them in the past..
Dan, never thought to take some pics while we were there.. lol
but in order to continue playing there we must be safety minded and display some professionalism.. or i dont think they will want to mess with airsofters. we will have to wear to wear full seal goggles or full face masks.
all we have to do is figure when we want to set up a game (sunday) and let them know we are coming as much in advance as possible. so we should be working on a date to have 1st game..

Question, is the Barrel Bag just like a little drawstring pouch? Does it need to be Red?

yep, just like used on paintball guns. not sure how that will work on our guns, but for now it is a rule to play there.. Dan said something about making a bunch up..

Yeah if need be I can sew up a bunch. I don't think it has to be red but I'm going to make red ones so they sorta work like dead rags too. Ultra said he bought a couple from evike.com after the last game for $.99 each.

10-15 mins means its just open play, last man standing, no scenario...... could be fun.

his paintball limits dont really mean much to airsoft, is that gonna be up to the you guys when you run the event?

I'd say we'll use the rules posted already. I'd say we could help them establish some airsoft rules for their business if they wanted. Does the 10 to 15 minute rule stand when we are the only ones there? 20 to 30 scenarios sound better for airsoft. You could actually do some interesting stuff with that time limit. Something like a bomb or hostage scenario would be fun.

If we are the only ones there I don't think the time limits matter. If we are in the back field I don't think it matters. I think the time limits are mostly so when new players get there they can be put into the next game. Also the time seem to mostly be in the urban area of the field so if we want to play in the urban area when the paintballers are there we would have the time limits.

my take from talking to Jack and his wife is that we would be given full run of the place as long as no paintballers are there. Sundays the field actually dont open till like 1:00 but they said that if we want to start at say 10:00 am they would come in and open for us only.. that way we can play the cqb field till the paintballers get there at 1:00.. then we just move to the rest of the field for remainder of the day... seems that the paintballers mainly only use the cqb field which is seperate from the rest of the field.. and we will be running our own games there. at least that is what i made of the conversation.. Safety is the big thing...... safety 1st

I think this is a great first step, as long as the paintballers do not play against us. I mean we are playing our game and they come over and start shooting us, paintballs to the face is not a good idea.

Also, would there be any chance of us playing Saturdays all day? At MAM, Mike found that it worked better this way as intermingling usually led to problems/pissing contests.

They're not willing to lose any paint ball business to us. This is the option we were offered, and after the first game we can reevaluate.

And no, we won't playing against paint ballers. However, I have no problem letting them borrow a gun and eye pro that day to jump in
a game for a few minutes.

So they have Paintball games on Saturday as well? When is this game, if we can get a lot of people out (40+) it will really help our argument to change their minds.

An if a paintballer want to shoot me in the face I have no problem puttting his on his a$$. I don't think that there will be a guy there I would have to think twice about something like that for. Now before I get pressed to for saying that. I am not going up there to pick a fight. I play nicely with others for the most part but there's that line in my head that bouncer mode kicks in and I go to work. But from what I hear the paintballs were very interested in airsoft last time we were there.
